The Role
A young fun, gentle-natured young man requires the support of a PA who is energetic, pro-active and has a good sense of humour. Preferred days/times: Thursday & Friday - 8am - 4pm. The times may change slightly but core hours will be 8 hours per day Saturday & Sunday – 6 hours to be used flexibly over the weekend The PA must have a clean UK driving Licence and their own vehicle (Fuel costs will be reimbursed). Tasks/duties: Life skills - learning and promoting life skills to enable the client to reach his maximum potential such as cooking, domestic tasks, support with personal care etc. Accessing the community - groups, clubs, activities, and taking him to his personal trainer at the gym Client main diagnosis: Down Syndrome, Learning Difficulties, speech difficulties Communication: The client can communicate however it can sometimes be difficult to understand him, therefore he has a talker device to support with communication. Client enjoys: Swimming, music, drama, cinema, going to the gym, going for walks and socialising. This opportunity is suited for someone who is responsible, reliable, patient, and respectful of others' privacy, dignity, values, and beliefs.
